Emerald interior/exterior waterbased cabinet, door and trim enamel provides an enduring and premium appearance

CLEVELAND – Sherwin-Williams has expanded the Emerald family of products, its finest interior and exterior paints, with the new Emerald® Interior/Exterior Waterbased Urethane Trim Enamel. It’s perfect for cabinet, door and trim projects where hardness, adhesion and durability are primary considerations. Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel delivers the look and feel of an oil-based enamel with the convenience of a waterbased formula. Not only does it perform well inside, it has excellent color and gloss retention for exterior applications. The new product will be available in the first quarter of 2017.

“When looking for the best, our customers look for Emerald,” said Steve Revnew, senior vice president of product innovation, Sherwin-Williams. “By expanding the line with a trim enamel, we can continue to provide our customers with unparalleled paint for even more applications. This new product is a premier option with outstanding flow and leveling for a smooth, streak-free and uniform finish — a perfect addition to the Emerald family.”

Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel is a waterbased urethane modified alkyd, easy to apply and designed for both interior and exterior use. Unlike many oil-based paint alternatives, it resists yellowing, has excellent block resistance and maintains brilliant color and sheen.

An ideal upgrade option, the enamel is available in satin, semi-gloss and gloss sheens, comes in a wide variety of colors and meets the most stringent VOC regulations. For more information, visit Sherwin-Williams.com.

Bedroom Trends We’re Loving

Everything that is old is new again and these bedroom trends we’re loving are proof that all things make a comeback. Page through any design or home decor book or magazine and you’ll see trends from decades ago making waves again. We’ve moved from the plain, decluttered look to a more luxurious, even glamourous design for our bedrooms. These bedroom trends are lovely, easy to incorporate and don’t have to cost an arm and a leg to implement.

Bedroom Trends We’re Loving

Wallpaper – Remember back in the 80s when all the walls were covered in floral or geometric designs? Well, wallpaper is back, and it’s better than ever. Today’s designs are simple or chaotic, depending on your taste. They can be muted or bold. Aren’t ready to commit all four walls? Considering doing only one wall in paper as an accent. If you get tired of the look you can repaint the other three walls and change it up.

Peaceful Spaces – Our bedrooms should be a tranquil place. Use soft colors and lighting to create a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. Decorate with flowers and scents to create an oasis for all your senses. If you have kids, do your best to keep them out of your one true space in the home.

Multi Use – Bedrooms are for so much more than sleeping these days. Many couples incorporate spaces in the bedroom for reading, exercising and even eating. Coffee bars are hot right now, and they’re easy to implement.

Unplug – Many homeowners are opting to unplug in one room of the house, and that usually means the bedroom. Including TV, cell phone, games, tablets, laptop or even carrier pigeon, people want a place in their home where they can unwind and unplug.

Custom HeadboardsCheck out Pinterest for some great custom headboard ideas that you could even DIY if you were so inclined. Often times a custom headboard can be had for less than one at the store. Bonus is it’s as unique as you are.

Bucking the Trends – One of the greatest thing about the trends in bedrooms in 2017 is that there is no real trend. These decor ideas aren’t going to be dated in 3 or 4 years. These design trends are actually classic ideas just waiting for you to try.
