The community of Springfield, NE is located in Sarpy County and was platted in 1873 by U.S. Civil War veteran J. D. Spearman, which was done in anticipation of the coming of the Missouri Pacific Railroad. The town was named after several nearby springs and was established in November, 1881. The first store of Spearman & Bonner was built shortly after as well as the first residence, which was added to the town by Mr. J. Hoover.

The district’s average math proficiency score of 68% and reading proficiency score of 65% is above the statewide average of 52% for both math and reading.
