As Omaha home builders, we know how important community is. That’s why were so please to share information on the Teal Pumpkin Project. Halloween is right around the corner and that means for kids with allergies, and their parents, there will be a lot of worry about the treats they bring home. If you have a child with food allergies you know how challenging any activity is that revolves around food. You have to check and check again to make sure the prepackaged food you give your child doesn’t contain any of allergens. Then you have to hope the package has been labeled correctly.

The Teal Pumpkin Project is trying to change that. By displaying a teal pumpkin at your door and giving out non food items as treats for the kiddies, you can help those with food allergies have a less worrisome holiday.

Teal Pumpkin Project

FARE’s Teal Pumpkin Project® is a worldwide movement to create a safer, happier Halloween for all kids. Putting a teal pumpkin on your doorstep means you have non-food treats available, such as glow sticks or small toys. This simple act promotes inclusion for trick-or-treaters with food allergies or other conditions.

How to Take Part

Provide non-food treats for trick-or-treaters
Place a teal pumpkin in front of your home to indicate to passersby that you have non-food treats available
Display a free printable sign or premium poster from FARE to explain the meaning of your teal pumpkin
